My Process
We experience the wind in many different ways: a gentle blow through our hair, feeling the movement of air across our skin, observing leaves roll by on the ground, the swaying of flowers and trees. One day while I was staying in a cottage on a mountain, I witnessed the wind through the drift of snow under the light of the street lamps. I was inspired by the shapeless forces guiding the movements of the hovering snowflakes. Sometimes it was a slow, gentle calm, but other times it would whip up in a dynamic, violent torrent. After that ecstatic experience, my work was concentrated on how to visualize the different movement of wind on my canvas.
